The demand for data centers around the world is growing, as well as the optimization and technological improvement to provide a solution to the demands of large companies. It is therefore important to have good water cooling in the computer data system.
Water Cooling
Water cooling is a system by which submerged and exposed parts generate heat, which transforms the liquid into gas.
Importance of cooling
Cooling in computer data centers is vitally important because of its impact on the reliability, performance and efficiency of operations. Here are the key reasons why cooling plays a critical role in these environments.
Cooling is very important in data centers due to a number of reasons:
- Avoiding operational downtime:
- Such as overheating in equipment.
- Electrostatic charges, temperature and humidity control.
- Condensation and oxidation, inadequate cooling can cause condensation and oxidation of IT equipment, thus decreasing its useful life.
- Increases processing capacity, good cooling allows optimal operation of services.
- Reduces energy consumption, with refrigerant systems less energy is consumed than with traditional methods.
- Reduces downtime and space.

Planning a cooling system
In order to have a good planning of data center cooling systems, the first thing to consider is the corresponding dimensions, i.e. the calculation of the thermal load.
- 70% of the load corresponds to IT equipment.
- 9% lighting.
- 6% related to the distribution of the power supply.
- 2% presence of personnel in the data center.
Types of refrigeration or cooling
- Air cooling: this is the most common method. It consists of expelling hot air through the servers and taking it to an air conditioning unit. Once it has cooled down, it is blown back to the cold aisle or entrance of the racks.
- Water cooling: this is the best option in terms of quality-price ratio.
- Immersion cooling: this is a new cooling technique in which the servers are immersed in a dialectic liquid. It allows the reduction of energy consumption in the operators. This liquid is in contact with hot components, its function is to absorb the heat that will be dissipated to the outside.
