Pressurized sand filters
At I’mWATER, we design, manufacture, and customize pressurized sand filters that meet the highest water clarification requirements, both in drinking water treatment plants, desalination facilities, and industrial applications. Our equipment is engineered to:
-
remove suspended solids, turbidity, and fine particles before downstream processes such as reverse osmosis or ultrafiltration,
-
operate reliably under pressure conditions, and
-
adapt to demanding technical environments (seawater, brackish water, industrial wastewater).
Filtration using granular media—silica, anthracite, multilayer beds—stands as a key stage in polishing or pretreatment processes. As specialized sources point out, this type of technology is used in drinking water treatment plants (DWTP) and in tertiary treatment processes at wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) to ensure the quality of the treated water.
Our sand filters can be manufactured in carbon steel or stainless steel, selected according to operating conditions and the filtration medium.
We design our equipment to operate at pressures of up to 10 bar, making them ideal for filtration processes prior to reverse osmosis or other high-demand stages.
In addition, the geometry (vertical or horizontal) is adapted to the available space and the type of installation. For example, in some desalination projects, horizontal filters have been supplied for high flow rates.
