Desalination Plants 1000 M3/Day of capacity: A Key Solution for Drinking Water in Water Emergency Situations
Recently, ImWATER has delivered a Desalination Plant 1000 m³/day of capacity in a new success story in our journey as a manufacturer of containerized and skid-mounted desalination systems.
This plant is based on reverse osmosis technology, with a production capacity of 1000 m³/day. The treated water will be used for human consumption.
The scope of supply included process engineering, detailed engineering, equipment procurement, and full assembly of all plant components at our own facilities located in Gijón (Asturias, Spain).
In this case, the client provided a water analysis of the raw seawater and the reject water from another desalination plant, which allowed us to partially reuse the feedwater for the new system.
The plant was designed to operate with a TDS range below 25,000 ppm.
The scope also included the supply of a pretreatment system with pressure sand filters, aimed at removing larger particles from the feedwater to protect the downstream equipment.
The reverse osmosis system separates the dissolved salts, product water, and other compounds from the seawater.
In addition, the system included an antiscalant dosing unit to minimize the risk of scaling on the RO membranes, and a safety microfiltration system with a 5µm multi-cartridge filter, which protects the high-pressure pump.
A high-pressure pumping system and an energy recovery device from DANFOSS were also installed.
Finally, the system included an automatic flushing unit, featuring a tank to store permeate water through an automatic filling system, and a flushing pump to provide the required flow and pressure.
The entire system was preassembled on a stainless steel frame (AISI 316L), which underwent a thorough cleaning, pickling, and passivation process.
These types of plants offer a true plug & play solution, ready for fast installation and almost immediate operation. They stand out for their modularity, scalability (allowing future capacity expansions), and their compact and robust design.
ImWATER’s own team handles the installation supervision, commissioning, and training of the personnel who will operate the plant, ensuring the client receives a reliable and efficient system with full confidence.
ImWATER also provides its own Maintenance and Technical Service, ready to respond to any incident quickly and efficiently.
In addition to this 1000 m³/day model, ImWATER also manufactures desalination plants with capacities of 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 m³/day.
